It really feels like they are returning to their Confederate roots.

Honestly, they never left those Confederate Roots. The SBC was created so that their missionaries could hold on to their slaves. They never had any intention of seeing slavery or racism as a sin. The profit from Cotton and Tobacco was too great a price to pay to aligned themselves with other Baptist’s sects.

I grew up Baptist in the UK. We do not understand how Christians would want the South in their name. It is idolatry.

Here is the clincher. The Southern Baptists and Anglo Christians are not Followers of Christ. They have sold their souls to Evil. What they hope to get out of the deal is more White/Anglo Evangelicals babies to tower over all of the brown, black, and babies from other cultures.

The immigration issue would come to a standstill if corporations would stop recruiting workers from other countries. Honestly, the corporations and parts of the economy would collapse if all immigrants were deported.

The abortion issue is non issue if Women had access to healthcare and birth control. These , “Evangelicals “ need more white babies to repopulate and govern the USA.

It’s very sad that people would rather use God as an excuse for their racism.

Yes. You hardly ever hear Jesus being mentioned as part of their foundation. It is a power grab. Churches are not gaining ground. They have compromised themselves.

God won’t bless corruption and idolatry. Their loss. God’s church is not theirs.

The SBC is a joke. They exist just to have an enemy.

It's such a large denomination that there is a lot of variation in the ranks. I know some folks at the convention wish the SBC was known more for what they are "for" rather than just what they're "against." So I think many within, who hope to be agents of change, feel like sometimes it does seem the denomination is only looking for enemies. From the outside I hope those who want to change the tide are able to do so.

That would be nice. I was a student at Southern Seminary during the 80s/90’s. Witnessed first hand the destruction by Mohler and his crew. Such a horrible and profound experience for so many.

The collective effects went viral to every organization/department of the SBC. Churches were disassociated from local and state fellowships. Students lost their financial support from their home churches.

We were aware that turbulent times were on the way. It went beyond turbulent. It was just plain Evil. It was then, a microcosm of what we are seeing today. It was divisive.

I wasn’t aware that some churches had ordained women as pastors. Thought that their “Purge”was completed after their statement on Women & Submission.

Either way, I will never step foot in a SBC again nor will I ever be able to look at them with ANY CONFIDENCE OR RESPECT.

I am sorry for your experience, and I can't imagine what that must have felt like. Wounds like that cut very deep.

Yes. Many have left the ministry and have lost their way, because of the damage. Unfortunately, every church is connected to its culture, its environment, and its history. Churches will drop Christ from its platform before they drop their very own oppressive culture.
